Looking Back...(Landrie's Birthday Part 1)

In honor of Landrie's 5th birthday on Saturday, I thought I'd look back at each of her birthdays.

I get sentimental this time of year when I think about the blessing that she is. She truly is my miracle child. As I've written before, Landrie gave us a big scare when she was born--not breathing and very gray. To look at her now, you would never even know.

Her first birthday was a celebration of her sweet first year of life. She was just beginning to take her first steps, always very cautious and careful. She was always happy and easy-going. We loved to dress her up in cute clothes from head-to-toe. She is and was more sweet than she is cute. We are blessed!

Yes, I know sentimental. I always get that way when birthday's roll around. I never ever dreamed of having such sweet granddaughters. Landrie was my first and for some reason, I feel especially close to her. I think we have a bond that no one can explain, but God. He knew how I longed for a daughter, but he blessed me with 3 boys whom I love and cherish to this day and would never trade them in for "pigtails". But what He had planned for me was a special daughter-in-law who I consider a daughter I didn't have and then He gave me two beautiful granddaughters. When Landrie was born I realized that I truly didn't know how amazing it would be to have grandchildren. Having children is one thing.....but having a grandchild is something else. And, after Landrie, I didn't think I could love another grandchild as much as I loved Landrie....but oh my, how I loved that little girl Karsyn as much as I did Landrie. I am truly blessed by having these children around me (not as often as I would like, however). But, still they are kindred spirits to me and I cherish each and every moment I have with them. Happy Birthday Landrie! Gigi loves you! And, I can hardly wait to see what God has planned for me when David and John marry!!!

I know that dress! Rilee wore it for like 10 minutes b/f she had an "accident" at her party. Landrie is so cute and I can't believe how big she is now :)
