This will probably take 2 posts, so I'm putting the random ones here and I'll put the others on a Halloween Post. We've been busy lately, but we're having a great time enjoying the cooler weather.

Haltom played Everman a few weeks ago in a pre-district game. Everman is having a great year and Haltom...not so great. We won't hold it against you Ally & Jay.

Sweet Mornings

Most mornings Karsyn wakes up before Landrie. I think she hears our alarms through her wall and is ready to start her day before we're usually ready for her. I usually pick her up and take her in to Landrie's room to wake Big Sis up. This morning I laid her in bed with Landrie and went back to my room to finish getting ready.

When I came back, this is what I found...

Let's pretend that 2 minutes later I didn't hear Landrie yelling because Karsyn took her blanket or that Karsyn is laying so perfectly still because she wants to be sweet, not because she's a little sick and is too tired to move. I just want to imagine them as being this sweet and loving all the time.

I'll show them this picture when they're 16 and 14 and remind them that they did like each other's company at one time in their lives.

Silly, Silly Girls!!

First I should say that I'm loving 4 years old! Landrie has not (for the most part) had any fits and has just been sweet and so fun since her birthday. Karsyn has too! We had a long weekend at home and they were so good that I could imagine being a stay-at-home mom for once.


Here's some of the silly pictures over the last few days...and maybe a video if I can get it to work.

I went to check on Landrie last night and this is what I found...she was sleeping with her pumpkin from her party!

We were trying on possibilities for Halloween costumes for Karsyn. Fortunately or unfortunately (depending on how you look at it), Karsyn gets to try Landrie's hand-me-downs before I buy her something new. This was Landrie's costume last year, but it looks good on Karsyn....what do you think?? I tried to take it off of her and she started screaming. I'm not sure I'll ever get it off of her!!!

Landrie is going to be Cinderella for Halloween this year. Complete with glass slippers, a tiarra and a magic wand. She wasn't too happy with the costume today, but I think it will work out!

Here's the video. Karsyn and Lamar were playing a game with his hat. It's just funny to watch the facial expressions she has and hear her sweet little voice.

Birthday Week

Growing up, we always said we had a Birthday Week. It never just lasted one day. This year, we did the same for Landrie. Her actual birthday was on Thursday and we finally finished celebrating yesterday. It sounds like fun, but it's actually pretty tough on a little girl.


Thursday morning, Lamar and I woke her up and sang Happy Birthday. She was so excited to open the presents we picked out for her.


She opend her clothes and new flip flops so she'd have an outfit to wear to school. We got reactions like "Wow, these are COOL!" and "Thanks Mom!" She was thrilled to say the least. She looked adorable and so grown up going to school. We were saving the fun presents for later.







That afternoon she opened a few of her presents from Pops & Lolly (more clothes & shoes) and 2 special puppies that she really wanted. She was still excited and very sweet about her presents! She even tried to give one of the puppies to Karsyn.


That night she opened her toys that Daddy picked out and some more surprises from Pops & Lolly. Little by little her reactions got less and less animated. By the time her party rolled around, she had a tough time mustering up any excitement. She loved the party and her presents, but we didn't get the authentic excitement I was hoping for.


Here's pictures of her Pumpkin Patch Party. It was sooooo steamy outside, but we had so much fun! We're hoping it will be a new tradition for Landrie's Birthday!

This is why I love ABC "Premier Week".

The girls love Dancing with the Stars!! Karsyn is the Dancing Queen. Landrie loves to just twirl around until she's dizzy. It is such a blast to raise these 2 sweet girls!!!

Hugs & Kisses

Karsyn has been very lovey lately. Two weeks ago, she starting giving hugs. Landrie would ask her for a hug, and Karsyn would run from wherever she was and give her a big hug. Too cute! She gave Daddy some love too! Tonight we were playing outside and Karsyn would run between Landrie and I to give us kisses. I'm loving this sweet, sweet girl!

On a completely different subject, we were at a wedding 2 weeks ago, so I tried to get a family picture. No one cooperated...including Daddy!

A Weekend Getaway

Landrie & Karsyn had a weekend with Gigi & Grandpa and Mommy & Daddy had a much needed weekend together. Well...mostly together...if you exclude LOTS of football. It was great though...the girls were missing G & G!

First Day of Preschool

Landrie & Karsyn had their first day of "school" today. Landrie has gone for the last 2 years and was going to be back with her buddies, so she was super excited. I didn't worry about her a bit. I was a little sad to take my baby to school though. She's only 6 months younger than when Landrie went for the first time, but it still seemed different.

I wanted some pictures for their scrapbook, but as you all know...the girls don't cooperate well. As soon as we walked outside, the girls took off down the street.

Once at school, the only tears shed were because they couldn't get to their rooms fast enough.

Mommy's Little Helpers

Last night after dinner, I decided we needed to burn some steam so the girls and I went outside to play. I got out their tent and they played while I watered and picked a few weeds. They decided it would be more fun to help me instead.

After we watered, we took a walk up the street to Matt & Missy's house. Karsyn walked the whole way up there, but her little legs were too tired to walk home. About halfway home, she laid down on the sidewalk, so I carried her the rest of the way. I wish I had a picture of that. :)

The first week of school has gone well for both Lamar and I. We're adjusting to our early, early mornings and Lamar's late evenings. I hope that his hardwork pays off with a winning season.

Scrimmage

Last night was Lamar's first official scrimmage. Before the game, the girls and I met the other coaches' wives and had dinner at Rosa's. It was so great to meet new people who had so much in common. It will definitely help make the season go by easier.

Landrie loved meeting the new kids and hanging out. Karsyn climbed to the top of the stadium and then had the fit of a lifetime when I carried her back down. In her defense, she was exhausted. It was way past her bedtime. Hopefully, she'll adjust well because we have a LOT of football games in our future.

I'll make sure to get pictures next week at the first game! Go Buffalos!!

Summer's Over

This week marks the official end of summer. I've been back at work since the 6th, but kids will be here on Monday. We've missed Daddy a lot lately...football is keeping him very busy, but we're all excited about his new job. Go Buffalos!

On Sunday, Gigi, Grandpa and Grandmommy came to visit from Salado. We went to lunch and somehow I didn't manage to get a picture of the girls with them. :( But, we did take a few cute ones at La Hacienda. Yummy!

Update?

Wow! I've been a BAD blogger lately! The girls are keeping me on my toes constantly, but there hasn't been anything exciting to report. We've spent a lot of time at home just having fun and hanging out together.

Lamar and I went back to work officially last Monday. Lamar's worked hard all summer with football, but now it's in full swing. The girls are back at Lolly's and I know they were excited for a change of scenery. Lolly has travelled a LOT this summer and we've missed her!

I've read several good books lately that I would highly recommend:

• Back on Blossom Street - Debbie Macomber. Anything she writes is good!
• The "Seasons" Series by Beverly LaHaye and Terri Blackstock. Great Christian fiction! There are 4 books and I read them all in less than a week.

Gigi - I promise to post pictures this week! And, we can't wait to see you next Sunday!

Tonight we celebrated Papa's 80th Birthday! I can't even put into words how special my family is to me...especially Papa. Lolly put it best here!

A Thank You for Gigi & More

I have to say a very special Thank You to Gigi! Tuesday night we got a very special package in the mail. It was a storybook personalized for Landrie & Karsyn. It's not your typical personalized book with a few things here or there that are unique. This is an entirely original work of art. Each page has pictures of the girls on it with captions. Landrie and Karsyn both love to look at the pictures. It's a wonderful keepsake Gigi! We love it!!

The Wedding

Landrie was a flower girl this weekend in our friends' wedding. Friday night at the rehearsal, she made me a little nervous. She was acting timid at first, but as she got more comfortable, she made me more anxious. She was standing on stage adjusting her dress and at one point flashed the audience. I was terrified that she would try something like that during the wedding.

She actually did really well during the wedding...just a little antsy on stage for that long. She was whispering to the bridesmaids that she was hungry and needed to go potty, but she made it through the entire ceremony! She looked adorable!

A Long Overdue Picture Post

I promise, I really do take pictures of the girls...that is until I broke my camera last week. I've wanted a new one for some time, so I'm going to be on the lookout for good deals. Kodak, I'd be happy to try out your latest and greatest (if you're listening)!


July is a busy birthday month for our family. Justin's is on the 2nd, Janelle's on the 7th and Lamar's on the 13th. Saturday we celebrated Janelle's a Babes Fried Chicken. It was so good!! They have a very picturesque waiting area, so I attempted to take some pictures of the girls.

Because they usually turn out like this, I'm bribing Landrie to take good pictures at the wedding this weekend. I told her if she gave me all pretty smiles, then we'd pick out a toy or go see a movie next week. Here's to hoping for the best! :)

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Today is Lamar's 29th birthday! Wow ~ He's getting old. :)

This morning Landrie helped me cook a big breakfast with blueberry muffins, hashbrowns, scrambled eggs and OJ. She was a great help until Go Diego Go came on...he's such a distraction.

Landrie is in a wedding this weekend, so she is stealing Lamar's birthday a little bit. We have the rehearsal tonight and the wedding tomorrow night, so our real birthday celebration will be on Sunday!

Happy Birthday Daddy! We love you!!

Silly Landrie

The other day we were all supposed to be taking a nap. I put Landrie and Karsyn down and went to take a nap myself. When I woke up, I went to check on the girls. I pulled back Landrie's covers and this is what I found:





You see, when I put Landrie in her bed, she just had on the pink dress. When I went to check on her, she had on hot pink polka dot tights!?! She told me that she had to go potty and her panties got a "little bit" wet, so she put these tights on instead. She is a silly, silly girl!!

Antique Mommy had a funny post up today. She wrote about the time she won a pumpkin in 4th Grade and then asked for comments about our "winning" stories. Two came to mind for me:


When I was in 2nd or 3rd grade, I won a coloring contest sponsored by our local newspaper. The prize was tickets to the zoo. My mom drove up to the small office and had my brother and I go in to claim the prize. When we walked in, we were shocked to see a fully grown lion laying in the floor!! I think we were so scared, we ran back to the car and had my mom go in with us. I can still picture that lion, larger than life, laying so calmly in the floor.

Fast forward to my senior year of high school...

My friends and I were country music fans and had gone to several concerts - George Straight, Dixie Chicks, Tim Mcgraw, Faith Hill, etc. MaryAnn, Meredith, Sandy and I had tickets to the Garth Brooks Concert one night. We were headed to the cheap seats (looking pretty darn cute, I must add) when a man stopped us. He asked if we were big fans of GB. We squealed and said "of course." The next thing we know - we were escorted to the FRONT ROW for the concert. It was a blast!!

So, I can't actually claim that I've never won anything! What about you??
