Way behind...

It's been 6 weeks since I last blogged...oops!  We've stayed busy and have had a lot of fun along the way.  The girls love school and are doing so well!  Landrie got straight A's on her first report card and Karsyn got all 3's (the best!).

Of course, football consumes most of our time, but we LOVE it!  The season started out super hot, and we've had some strange weather for a few of the games.  We now have only 2 games left in the regular season, and then it's time for our 2nd season - the playoffs!

I'm 31 weeks as of last Friday. I can't believe that in 8ish weeks our little man will be here!  We can't wait to meet him!

Here are a few pics from our first few weeks of football.

Karsyn loves to cheer her Trojans on at all of the games!  She dances with the band and shouts and cheers through most of the game.

The girls went to the THS Cheer Clinic with some of their favorite football friends.  By going to the clinic, they were able to cheer during the pre-game a few weeks later.

Go  Landrie Go!

State Game

Last Saturday, we made it to the much anticipated State Championship game at Cowboys Stadium! The stands were packed - 43,000+! While we didn't get the result we hoped for, it was still great to be there with our families. We had 25 people there to cheer on Coach Kirk!

One of the coolest traditions is for the Euless Fire and Police to escort the Trojans back to school. Even though we didn't get the W, they still greeted the buses with a police escort and the fire ladders raised.

We had a great run this season 15-1! I know Coach K definitely wanted 16-0, but they are very proud of what they accomplished! The whole playoff run was close and competitive...we were lucky to make it as far as we did. And, there's always next year!

I'm excited to have my husband home and working a more normal 40-50 hours a week, as opposed to 80+. But - that's the life of a coach's family and we love it!

Football, football & more football!

Tonight we played the last game of the regular season. The girls got to cheer on the field during pre-game. They were excited and a little nervous, but darn cute!

We're looking forward to several more weeks of football - hopefully a repeat of last year - all the way to STATE on December 18!
Go Trojans, Go Daddy!!!

We Are a Football Family!

Karsyn tells everyone we know that "we are a football family" so when we had family pictures taken in August, it was fitting to include a football in our pictures. I'm so glad that the girls love it so much and are so understanding that Daddy is away so much.

Football season is going full-steam ahead. Lamar's freshman team is not doing as well as they would like, but the Varsity team is doing awesome! The girls love going to watch Daddy's games and cheering on the Trojans!

Caleb and Landrie singing the Alma Mater. They have several years of this ahead of them!

Lookin' good Coach!

Haka Time!

Landrie doing the Haka with the boys!
It was an ugly game--disrespect and fighting from the other team--but we came out on top 42-7!! We're rolling through district 5-0!

Go Trojans!

Today we played football at the "Big Show" - Cowboys Stadium! It was a great game for many reasons - Gigi, Grandpa and David were there and we won!!! Poor Shiloh Christian had a long drive back to Arkansas after we beat them 80-26! It was a fun game and all of our kids got a chance to play (3rd & 4th string too)!

Coach K on the BIG screen! We love our coach!!

We are the CHAMPIONS!

I'm so excited and so proud to say that WE WON!! It was a heart in your throat, gut-wrenching kind of game, but we came up on top. The 5 months of Lamar working 7 days a week and me feeling like a semi-single mom paid off. Daddy's biggest fans were so excited to greet him on the field!

Way to go Trojans!!!

Trojans are headed to STATE!

My alma mater, Trinity, is headed to State this weekend! This in itself is exciting, but is even more exciting considering that Lamar is part of the coaching staff!!! It's so exciting to be part of a winning team after the last 2 years.

Good luck Coach Kirk and Go Trojans!!!

A Different Black Friday

The last several years I've done the Black Friday adventure...this year was a little different. We celebrated Black Friday by cheering on the Trojans!

The girls are such troopers at the games. Today we were there for 5 hours! They love to watch football and cheer for Daddy! Karsyn now loves to imitate the Haka and Landrie was watching for first downs so she could join the rest of the fans chanting "1-2-3 First Down!"

Next week, we're on to the Region Finals. I have to miss the game due to our annual Craft Fair, but I'm hopeful for another WIN - Go Trojans!!!

Daddy's Biggest Fans

Wednesday night marked the end of Lamar's junior high season. We watched the Stallions win against a big rival. After the game, the girls and Daddy cooperated for some cute pictures:

Fun Labor Day

We had a great day off today! After Landrie being sick for 2 days, I was really looking forward to getting out of the house. We went to the first high school game at Cowboys Stadium! Lamar was working at the game and ended up on the sidelines helping with the defense!

We sat on the 50 yard line and I was blown away by the big screen!! It was a fun game and WE WON - 42-21!!!

After the game, we rested up and then went to dinner at Chick-fil-A for our FREE sandwich! It was super busy and the one we went to was out of sandwiches, so we got nuggets instead. While we were eating, Landrie lost her first tooth!! We're pretty sure she swallowed it, which really disappointed her, but we left a note for the tooth fairy so she wouldn't forget to come.

The Tooth Fairy is bringing her 4 quarters. I didn't want to put them loose under her pillow, so she's getting a cute package!

I'm a little sad to see her lose her teeth. We'll have to take lots of pictures before the big ones come in!!!

Buffs WIN!!!

It was an exhausting and emotional night, but the Buffs pulled off a surprise victory against Weatherford tonight! We went into 3 overtimes!!! At one point, I looked up into the box and Lamar had his hands covering his eyes... It was the much needed boost that they needed in a tough season so far.

Keep an eye out for some celebration pictures and Karsyn sporting a sweet new hairstyle! Let's just say - she took matters into her own hands. Yikes!

Have a good weekend!!

You know you're a coach's wife if...

...You plan the delivery of your children around your coaching schedule.

Landrie was due on October 5, 2003--right in the middle of football season. Luckily though that weekend was a Bye Week for Lamar and the P-W Pirates. After much discussion with the doctor, I convinced her that it would be more convenient if we could induce that weekend, especially since she would be on call that weekend and we could have all of our family present.

And the family made their presence known...I believe there were close to 30 people in the waiting room while I delivered!

I went in on Friday night and 26 miserable hours later, sweet Landrie was born. Earlier on Saturday, when they broke my water, there was meconium in my fluid so they were concerned she was under stress. The doctor was prepared and there were NICU nurses standing by as I delivered. Landrie was grey and limp and didn't cry at all. It was the scariest moment of my life. The nurses worked on her for what seemed like forever, and she began to cry and "pink" up. Her first Apgar was a 2, the second a 8-9. Dr. B never could determine what the problem was, but thankfully Landrie suffered no effects from the delivery.

God was watching over us all that day - She truly is my miracle girl!

Scrimmage

Last night was Lamar's first official scrimmage. Before the game, the girls and I met the other coaches' wives and had dinner at Rosa's. It was so great to meet new people who had so much in common. It will definitely help make the season go by easier.

Landrie loved meeting the new kids and hanging out. Karsyn climbed to the top of the stadium and then had the fit of a lifetime when I carried her back down. In her defense, she was exhausted. It was way past her bedtime. Hopefully, she'll adjust well because we have a LOT of football games in our future.

I'll make sure to get pictures next week at the first game! Go Buffalos!!
