Christmas Tour of Homes

Boomama is hosting the Christmas Tour of Homes. If you've never read her before, she is by far, one of the funniest people that I've ever "met". When she posted the idea for this tour, I couldn't wait to get my decorations up and ready for pictures. I can't wait to see everyone else's homes.

It's not a Christmas decoration, but it is the favorite part of my house. And, since Jesus is the reason for the season, it's a perfect addition to the tour.

You could play "Where's Landrie" in almost all of the pictures. Most of the time I can't get her to take a picture at all, but tonight in all of her ragamuffin glory, she decided to accompany me to take all of the pictures. :)

Joys of Christmas

I've always loved this time of year, but I think it has an all new meaning once you have kids. This year is special because Landrie is really getting into it. She knows that we're celebrating Jesus' Birthday, but she also wants Santa to bring her every cool toy she sees.

It is also special because Karsyn is learning so many new things. She is army crawling everywhere and just yesterday started pulling up to a standing position. She wants to be where all the action is. She'll follow Landrie wherever she goes...it's so sweet! And Landrie still lights up when she sees Karsyn as if she's meeting her for the first time.

And the results are...

Our picture taking spree wasn't half bad. It was just getting there that was the problem. It was our weekend to usher at church, so we decided to leave at 3:45 and take pictures before the service. We left closer to 3:55. We had just gotten to the highway when I realized that Landrie didn't have any shoes on!! Lamar put her in the car, and I forgot to go back for her shoes. By then, our gas light was on in the car (10 miles to empty). So, we rushed home, grabbed Landrie's shoes and then stopped for $10 in gas.

We got to church at 4:25 and scrambled to take a few pics. Lolly was great and met us there.

Grand Picture Plan

Tonight I've planned a Christmas card photo shoot at Church. I've coordinated our outfits and scheduled a haircut for Landrie. Now we just have to pray for cooperation! Especially from Daddy! He hates having his picture taken. :)

New Friend

A new friend came into the world this week!

Matt and Missy welcomed Campbell Kay on Wednesday! Matt's mom and my dad went to high school together and then his family moved next door to us the summer before 2nd grade. Now Matt and I have both married and live down the street from eachother. Our kids will grow up to be friends just like we did! We're living out a 20 year legacy!

They were at the hospital when both of my girls were born, so it was only fitting that we be there when Miss Campbell was born. Landrie was so excited that "Campbell is in Missy's tummy, but she will be here very soon." She also told us that Campbell and Karsyn were going to be BEST friends. I agree!

Congratulations Matt & Missy! We couldn't be more happy for you!

Thank you Gigi!

Gigi saved us from a near disaster this weekend. My department at school is in charge of the Craft Fair. It is always the first Saturday in December. We work year round on the craft fair, but it's crunch time the week leading up to it. We're at school late on Friday night, and arrive back at school by 5:30 on Saturday morning and work all day through the craft fair. It's a lot of work, but a lot of fun too.

The problem was that Lamar had also scheduled a basketball tournament for this weekend. So that left him off duty with the girls, and Lolly was on call to work at her "job" Saturday. Gigi came to the rescue!

She got here at 3 on Friday afternoon and stayed through this afternoon. What a life saver!!! She had a great time hanging out with the girls and I know they enjoyed having Gigi around to spoil them! :)

I told her to reserve this weekend in the future just in case Daddy decides to schedule another basketball tournament!

It's Been A While

I've neglected my blogging and I'm not sure why. I guess nothing monumental has happened around here. It seems that everyone elses blogs that I "spy" on have big, life-changing things going on. So my everyday life just seems unconsequential in the grand scheme of things. For that though I am thankful!

The only updates are:

Football is STILL going on! Bell has made it to the playoffs, so our Friday nights are still busy. Basketball has started too, so we're adding a few more late nights to the schedule.

Karsyn now has 5 teeth and the 6th is on its way. I can't belive how fast she is changing. She is also army crawling. Most of the time she still rolls because it's faster, but if you set something in front of her that she wants, she'll grunt and go after it.



Landrie is such a big girl. She's always talked...A LOT, but its now "big girl" talk. Everyone that she meets she wants to know more about them and who they're related to. She has such a photographic memory. She saw pictures of the Grey's Anatomy stars in a magazine and started talking about the "doctors show". She's a HUGE fan of Dancing with the Stars and was pretty upset that Lamar and I were cheering for Emmitt. She argued with me for at least 30 minutes telling me that Mario was going to win, not Emmitt.



I'm enjoying my girls so much. I can't wait for their reactions to the upcoming holidays. Landrie keeps telling Lolly all the things she wants for Christmas. She's also helping to make Karsyn's list. Too cute!

Happy Birthday Landrie! After her 3rd Chocolate Cupcake!

It's BLOGtastic!

It's been 2 weeks since my last post and a lot has happened!

As of today, Landrie is officially a card carrying, bonafide member of the Potty Club! She went to school today without any accidents and went on the school potty 3 times!! While that terrifies me from a public bathroom phobia standpoint, it is great news on the PT front.

Since she was such a big girl, I promised her that she could pick out Dora or Diego slippers at Target. What an adventure...as it usually is. Karsyn was sitting in the front of the buggy (a new thing for her) and Landrie was in the back. She was wearing super cute, fuschia suede clogs from Gymboree. I had her take one off to try on the Diego slippers she wanted, so for the remainder of the trip around Target, she had only one shoe on. We bought the slippers and a Halloween t-shirt for her and then were headed home.

I had already loaded a very sleepy Karsyn into her carseat, when I noticed that Landrie no longer had her shoes on. There was one in the buggy, but the other was nowhere to be found. I took Karsyn back out of the car, loaded her in the buggy one more time, and then we started retracing our steps through Target.

Customer Service hadn't seen the shoe nor had any of the other people on radios at Target. Believe me...I asked. I left my name at Customer Service and hoped that would call if they found it. I came home and began to stress on where I would find the replacment shoes, Gymboree was sold out, so my next guess was eBay. Luckily, Target called and they're holding her shoe for me.

Other news:

• Karsyn is sitting up!
• She is eating cereal -- only when I feel like getting spit on.

I haven't killed her...yet

Some of you were worried that Landrie might not survive the whole PT thing. In fact, one friend wanted to take her home on Saturday fearing for her life. I guess I had that weary look, but it really hasn't been so bad. In the moment, it was TERRIBLE, but I'm proud of our progress.

Yesterday, only 1 accident to report. Today, 2 but that's not too bad considering it was her first day at school in Big Girl panties! I think we've made the turn and are headed toward the finish line.

PS: Karsyn started eating cereal tonight. Why do I torture myself so?? I'll post pictures of that later!

I'm on my 3rd pair of panties and its only 11 AM!

So when I posted about Landrie's birthday, I left out an important item. When I woke her up that morning, I told her that we were no longer wearing diapers. She was 3 now, so we didn't wear them anymore. She said OK and happily put on her panties.

We've had a few successes, but more failures. This is SO much work!! I'm still terrified that she will be 5 years old and still peeing and pooping on herself!!!

I've come to the conclusion that Karsyn will be potty trained before Landrie is.

I'm considering the bringing the "cage" back and making her play in there with her potty...ALL DAY LONG! No, you don't need to call CPS...it's not really a cage. Just the name that I affectionately gave it a long time ago--it's really a play yard that we used when Landrie was younger.

So, pray for my patience and pray for Landrie to PLEASE figure this thing out!!! I'm not giving up. We WILL NOT be buying diapers for her anymore...no matter what!

Happy Birthday Landrie!

Today marks the 3rd anniversary of one of the happiest and scariest days of my life. 3 years ago, on October 4, 2003, Landrie Nicole Kirk came into this world 7 pounds, 8 ounces and 19 1/2 inches long. Never before in my life had I experienced love like that.

After an uneventful pregnancy (despite ALL day sickness), I went in on October 3 to be induced. Things didn't progress like expected and at 3 o'clock on the 4th, the doctors were threatening to stop the pitocin and wait until the next day. By then, I just wanted to meet my little girl. Shortly after that, I was far enough along to get my epidural. Things moved quicker then, but the doctors were worried. Landrie was under stress and they had the NICU nurses waiting when she was born. 26 hours after I was induced, Landrie was born at 9:50 pm. Unfortunately, she was not breathing and was very limp. Thank goodness, the nurses were ready for her and after just a few minutes she was breathing on her own and doing much better.

It still scares me to think about that night, but I also mark that night as one of the happiest of my life. I have experienced more joy in the last 3 years than I ever thought possible.

Landrie is sweet, funny and smart. She has such joy in her heart. I am so thankful that God gave Lamar and I such wonderful baby girls.

Happy Birthday, Landrie! I can't wait to see what an amazing girl you're going to be. I love you!

Best Friends

Lamar has a 7th grade game tonight, so Landrie and I ate dinner together and then we had a girls night and played for a while.

I was getting the girls ready for bed and Landrie ran over to give me and Karsyn a group hug. While she was hugging us she said "Best Friends". I thought that was pretty darn cute, but then she added "One of our best friends is missing!" I asked who and she said "Daddy."

We did miss him tonight. I can wait for him to get home and hear about his sweet girls!

1. notebook - I immediately think of the movie "The Notebook". Janelle and I love to watch it. She balls almost through the entire movie. Also it reminds me of my school supplies and pens which are my very favorite things. :)

2. portrait - Portrait Innovations. My favorite place to take the girls for their pictures.

3. glasses - Hmmm. I guess the funniest thing I can think of is Pops at Kyndra's wedding last week. He couldn't see his notes for the ceremony and it sounded like he couldn't read he was stumbling so bad. He finally asked Papa for his glasses. That got a big laugh from everyone.

4. thunderstorm - NAP. Maybe its because I'm desparate to take one, but thunderstorms are my favorite times for naps.

Fall TV Line-up

I have a lot of things to catch up on here, but I thought I'd start by giving you my TV shows for the new season. Now that I have DVR, my list has grown since I can watch more than one show in the same time slot.

First - General Hospital - my sister will gag at this one, since she thinks that Soap Operas are ridiculous...and they are. But, I'm going to blame this one on my mom. Ever since I was very young, I've watched this show. I was in LOVE with Frisco when he was on many, many years ago. Now the kids on the show are my age and having kids of their own. I guess that's what makes it interesting to me. Plus, it's a good wind-down in the afternoons when I get home.

Monday
7th Heaven - Nothing much else on. It's also one of the only classy shows left.
The Bachelor Rome - starts on Monday, but I always enjoy watching and critiquing with Lolly after the show is over.

Tuesday
Gilmore Girls - just a fun girly show to watch. The reruns are great too!
Dancing with the Stars - A family favorite! Landrie loves to twirl around the living room while this is on. Lamar and I are rooting for Emmitt Smith...thank goodness he made it through tonight. We were threatening to boycott.
Law & Order: SVU - Jordan and I are addicted. This show leads to some disturbing dreams sometimes, but I've always been interested in crime stories.

Wednesday
Dancing with the Stars Results - need I say more...
Lost - Starts next week. We used to have watching parties with our HT friends. We'll see how season 3 pans out. It was starting to get weird for a while, but I enjoy having something to talk to my kids at school about. They all love it.

Thursday---MUST SEE TV Night
Thank goodness for DVR because Thursday is Game Night so Lamar misses Grey's Anatomy. Another family favorite. When Landrie sees it on, she calls it the Doctor's show.
6 Degrees caught my interest last week. I'll keep watching to see what I think.
ER- Another old favorite. I'm DVRing it and will watch it if I have time.

Friday & Saturday - No shows

Desparate Housewives - we've watched it from the beginning and I'll continue to watch even though it's not so much a favorite any more
Brothers & Sisters - I forgot to record this last week. I'll give it a chance though since it has such a great ensamble of actors. We'll see!

At some point I'll need to sleep, eat and raise my children, so I may have to cut back on this hectic schedule! Haha!!

How I met THE one!

It's funny that when you're getting to know someone the conversation always turns to how you met your husband/wife. And although I haven't had a conversation with anyone in the "bloggy" world, this is one of the posts that's gone around. Barb at A Chelsea Morning posted the idea, so here goes:

Going to a small college, you kind of just know everyone. On our campus, there were only 2 sororities and 2 fraternities. I was a member of Alpha Xi Delta and our sorority was usually paired off with Lambda Chi Alpha, Lamar's fraternity. I knew who he was, but that was about it. I don't really remember an introduction, but I do remember the first time I noticed him other than just a Frat Boy.

I was moving back in the dorms after Christmas break and my friend Tommy brought Lamar by to my room. I thought...this is strange. I knew who he was, but we'd never really talked. From there, we hung out a lot, just talking between classes and things. We had our Sweetheart Bash coming up and the guy I was dating at the time couldn't go. So, Lamar became my "default" date...just friends, you know. From that date on, we were a couple. Our first official date was February 14, 1999.

We've now been together 7 1/2 years, married for nearly 5 and have 2 beautiful girls!! This is my Happily Ever After!

Sweet Husband

The last few days haven't been the best. I'm feeling pulled in many different directions, but I think I'm still managing to keep everything functioning at a good level. My two proudest accomplishments around the house lately are making my bed everyday (except today...oops) and cooking dinner at least 3 nights a week.

The bed thing is something that is important to me, but I'm sure Lamar could care less. Dinner on the other hand, I know is more important to him. I don't really doubt that Lamar notices these things or that he appreciates them. The problem is I am a words person and Lamar is not. That's probably pretty obvious, but after we took the Love Languages test, it was confirmed. (He's Acts of Service)

I let Lamar know that I was feeling unappreciated. Evidently he agreed...

He came home last night early so I could go to my nail appointment. While I was gone, he took Landrie & Karsyn with him to the store and cooked dinner!! I think that was his first time ever to venture out with the girls by himself. Just for that I was impressed.

He and Landrie also picked up a surprise for me...

Last night was great! My Love Tank is FULL again! :)

Thursday Night Lights

Tonight was Lamar's second football game of the year. They played Bedford Junior High at Bell. I debated whether or not to go to the game. Landrie didn't take a nap at school again, so I thought I could get her to go to bed early.

Well...after a couple of hours of her playing wildly around the house, I decided we would lay down together in her room. Next thing I know, it's 6:30 and we've both been asleep for a while. I woke her up and we headed to the game. I knew after that nap, there was no way she would go to bed early.

We got to the game during the 3rd quarter. I lugged Karsyn in her seat along with our Sonic dinner up the bleachers. It was so nice outside. Landrie loves to watch football. During the game she yelled for Daddy to put on his "hemet" (helmet). She's so sure that he needs to be out there playing WITH the kids...not just coaching.

The scoreboard said 15-99 Bedford winning, but the actual score was 14-12. We WON!! Central is off to a good start and we can only hope for a successful season.

We came home and I thought Landrie would be ready to crash, but as you can see...she's still bouncing off the walls!



Tomorrow night Bell plays Boswell at Boswell, so Lamar will have a late night. We're hoping for a win for Bell...we'll see!

A New Addition to the Family

From the title, you might wonder what in the world we've added to the family. It's not another baby and definitely not an animal, but a...New Car!

My Jeep had seen its better days, so I went to Payton-Wright Ford today and after 5 hours of patiently waiting, I am the proud owner of a 2006 Ford Explorer! I love it!! It has the 3rd row seat and rear AC that were the top features I wanted.

Picture Day

I'll admit it...I'm not great about having the girls' pictures taken. We take plenty at home, but the last time Landrie's picture was taken professionally was April '05! So, a year and some months later, here we are again.

We found a great place to have pictures made called Portrait Innovations. They do a great job and you get your pictures the same day. They draw you in with a $9.95 "Special" that includes a 10 x 13, 2 8 x 10s, and several others all the way down to wallets of a single pose. When they take over 80 pictures, that makes things difficult.

I took Gigi with me hoping she'd help me find the perfect picture and we'd walk out of there spending just $9.95 + tax. Boy were we wrong! It's difficult to only choose one, especially when these were Karsyn's first professional photos.

Things started off OK...



And got progressively worse!Landrie was not enjoying herself and there was no amount of coaxing, bribing or just straight telling her she would do it to get a decent smile. She just clammed up. I still think they're pretty cute!

3 days and counting

Karsyn is STILL sleeping through the night!! She even slept until 8:40 this morning!! What a blessing!

It Worked!

I'm posting this after my first full night's sleep in a while!! The TV trick worked and I couldn't be more happy! Karsyn went down around 9:30 and woke up at 6:30! Yeah God!! I was begging Him to let her sleep last night. Thank goodness He did. Otherwise, I'm not sure what would have happened...

Thank God for Blessings BIG and small

Landrie went on the potty tonight!!! She was SO proud of herself!! I made her sit on the potty while the bathtub was filling up. She kept saying "I don't want to try," but I made her sit a little longer. A few minutes later, she starts screaming "I DID IT! Mommy, Mommy, look!"

Such a great moment for me!

It may only last for tonight, but she did it!! Yeah!

Can a girl get some sleep around here?

...Apparently not! Karsyn, dear Karsyn, has decided that she wants to revert back to her newborn days and wake up every 4 hours. Even in her newborn days, she slept at least 6 hours at night.

I'm sure the ideas and suggestions will come flocking in (from all 3 of my dedicated readers), but she's not ready for cereal, she's not cutting teeth (anymore) and she's over the shots. I tried to use those excuses too. =) I have a new solution, and if it works then I will declare myself a genius.

When Landrie was a baby, she had the same problem, but much earlier on. We discovered that she wasn't used to a perfectly dark, quiet room. She was more adjusted to the TV's and noise of the day. So, we bought her a TV at 11 days old. Crazy I know, but once we turned on some static and there was a little light, she slept much better.

Here's to hoping that will work for Karsyn too! I'm sure my students will be much happier too...I'm a little cranky without sleep! I'll let you all know how it works out tomorrow!

Karsyn's Checkup

Today Karsyn went in for her 4 month check-up. Lolly had to take her and Landrie since I couldn't get away from school. She weighed a whopping 14 lbs. 15 oz. and was 26 inches long!! She's my little giant! At 4 1/2 months, she has nearly doubled her birth weight and has grown 5 inches!!

When it was time for her to get shots, Lolly told Landrie that Karsyn had to get some medicine. Landrie's response..."Oh, poor baby"! Such a sweet BIG sister! Thankfully we didn't have to explain to the doctor why she had scratches on her knee. Landrie likes to drag Karsyn along with her...literally...

The First Day

Today was Landrie's first day of school. Her new teachers are Ms. Angie and Ms. Tina. This is especially confusing for her because of our Fairy Godmother Tina aka Channing's Gigi and then Landrie has her own Gigi. I imagine Angie is pretty confusing for her.

She was initially upset because I explained to her that Ms. Kari and Ms. Misty were not her teachers this year. She thought that her friends would not be in her class either. Once I explained that Lauren, Mia, Conner, Gavin and Caleb would still be in her class, she seemed fine.

To add to the fun, Avery and Hayden are also going to St. Timothy's. Hayden was supposed to be in Landrie's class, but the age group was so big that they were split up. We decided it was for the best though, so they could have separate identities. Plus, Landrie and Hayden don't always play well together.

Landrie got a good report today at school. She seemed really happy, but also exhausted. She only took a 15 minute nap! I think the only upset of the day was that she couldn't sit with Avery at lunch.

They Grow Up Too Fast

I am blown away by how much Karsyn is changing! I've noticed her drooling a lot lately, but didn't really think anything of it. I even rubbed her gums thinking maybe she was teething, but found nothing. Last night we were with some friends and one asked if Karsyn had teeth. I said "I don't think so"... Well...she does! 2 of them!!!

It makes me sad because that precious toothless grin will soon be gone. I'm not ready for that. She also is attempting to hold her bottle. That means that she will soon want to be independent and hold her own bottle without me. I just want to treasure these few months...I want her to stay a baby!

With Landrie, I was so excited to see her reach each milestone and see her grow and change. With Karsyn, I'm enjoying each stage so much more. I already can imagine each stage ahead because I've seen Landrie go through them. I wish I could freeze everything and just enjoy the girls at the ages they are forever. With the minor exception of the potty training thing...other than that, I'd keep Landrie at 2 1/2 forever!

The Blinds are IN!!

Our blinds were installed today!! We are one step closer to having things completed. This weekend I'm going to do some paint touch-ups and hopefully hang curtains in our room and Landrie's. I've ordered a valance from PBKids for Karsyn's room.

Funny/Scary Realization

Tonight Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (the original) was on ABC Family. I quickly wondered why I ever thought that it was a good movie. First off, Willy Wonka is CREEPY! The sing-song voice and the creepy eyes screams child molester to me. Then there's Agustus Gloop (?) who takes a swim in the chocolate river and get sucked up into the tube. Where does he go? Does he die? Does that happen to every kid who disobeys? Very traumatic in my opinion.

Then Violet...sweet, snotty Violet. She's so cocky and arrogant you just want to slap the smile off her face. She smacks on that "special" gum and turns violently violet. When the Umpa Loompas roll her away, it just about sends me over the edge.

I guess it sent my brother over the edge too. To this day, he's a little weary of little people. I think he's afraid they're going to take him away forever while singing "Umpa Loompa doopity doo..."

And we wonder what's wrong with kids today...

First Day of School

Today went surprisingly smooth. Almost too smooth. You know that feeling when you're just waiting for the other shoe to drop...but it didn't. It was a nice feeling coming back this year. I love the idea of a fresh start--new students, new school supplies (my personal favorite) and just new beginnings.

Jordan watched the girls today since Pops & Lolly are out of town. Lolly made it on the plane with no incidents this time. I called to check in with Jor at lunch time. Landrie was eating her "peanut jelly", as she calls it, and was having a great time. Jordan let me know that there was just one little near-disaster. Landrie found her way into a bottle of Jor's medicine. Landrie couldn't give us a straight answer about whether she ate it or not, but we're pretty sure she didn't. She just told us she threw it up in the air and put it in a bucket. Somehow...I believe her. Thank Goodness! A call to the Poison Control Center was not on my list of things to do today!

When we got home, I fixed (i.e. reheated leftovers) Landrie her favorite dinner...Spaghetti! Two bowls of spaghetti and a bowl of Cookie's & Cream--what a mess! I threw her and Karsyn into the bath and then it was off to bed for them!

All in all, we had a great day! Now its bath time for me!

Super Sunday

My day of rest will not be restful, but I hope it will be fun. This morning, I'm making cinnamon rolls for breakfast. Just the kind out of a can...don't expect too much, okay? Karsyn is playing in her exersaucer and Landrie is watching TV (of course). She occasionally darts out of her room to see Karsyn, I mean attack Karsyn. ;)



This afternoon, I'm going to shop for a "First Day of School" outfit. Even though I'm a teacher now, it still seems to be a must. We bought Lamar a new shirt last night, too!

Tonight we have HomeTeam at the Amerson's. It should be fun, but may be a little hectic because we have to bring the girls. With Pops & Lolly out of town, we don't have many babysitting options.

Tommorow is our first day of school. I pray that this year goes well and that we can impact our students in some way.

Real World...Here I Am

So, I'm back in the real world now. Being off for 4 months has been wonderful, but it is somewhat nice to be back into a routine. Sadly though, when I get home my brain is too fried to post any blogs. :( I know you're all disappointed. So just for you all (the whole 3 people who read this)...

My car is back in the shop today which really stinks, but things could be so much worse. It would be so easy to be frustrated and angry and say "Why Me?", but what good would that do. My car would still be in the shop... Truthfully, I am frustrated, who wouldn't be...

I am striving each day to have an attitude of praise no matter what the situation. God has given me more than I deserve each and every day.

"Therefore I will praise you among the nations, O Lord; I will sing praises to your name. He gives his king great victories; he shows unfailing kindness to his anointed." Psalm 18:49-50

Don't Sweat the Small Stuff

I started writing a post last night complaining about the beginning of school and football and how Lamar wouldn't be home much starting the 14th. It's never an easy adjustment for me. But after hearing of many others heartaches and difficult times, I've decided that I have NOTHING to complain about.

I am so thankful that my husband and I have great jobs that we love! God has provided us with a beautiful home to share with our 2 perfectly healthy daughters. Our health is what I'm most thankful for. I am amazed everyday by Landrie & Karsyn. They are both growing so fast and we've never had any major illnesses with them. God has blessed us beyond measure.

Each and every time we've hit a hard spot, God provides. And God will always provide. I'm through "sweating the small stuff," and I will be thankful that it is just SMALL STUFF.

Potty Training is the Pits

So...I feel like this is the topic of all my conversations lately, so...why not write about it!

Landrie is 2 years and 10 months going on 13! What she's lacking in potty skills, she makes up for in wit and beauty. The child is hilarious...and can express herself like a little adult, but she refuses to go to the potty!

I'm at a loss at this point... We've tried EVERYTHING! Positive reinforcement, negative reinforcement (oops...I hope she's not scarred forever) and then ignoring it altogether.

When all else fails, you just have to laugh.

Here are some of my favorite Potty Moments:

• Me: What's that smell? L: I think its poop.
• L: No more diapers. (5 minutes later...a poopy diaper)
• Yesterday... Me: Landrie go get the Blue's Clues diaper off of your table. L: Woo Hoo! I'm a baby! Baby Diapers, Yeah!!! Seriously running through the house with her fists raised in excitement.

It could be my timing...we started this journey 5 months ago. Karsyn was born 4 months ago. New baby: check. We moved from our old house to Pops & Lolly's, then to the new house. New house: check. I've read those events may be too much for a little one to handle and that potty training is not advised at those times. Do you believe everything you read? Maybe I should. :)

More later...hopefully I'll have good news on the PT front soon. I'm just praying that she's potty trained before Karsyn, but you never know.

Long Time...No posts

So, since our last post...

We've moved into my parents' house AND moved out into our OWN brand new house! I'm just a little excited!

Living with my parents had its ups and downs, but mostly ups. I remember what it's like to live with sisters again...sharing bathrooms, clothes & make-up. I also appreciate the quietness and space of our house now. Lamar, Landrie, Karsyn & I were all living in one bedroom!

The move went smoothly and after painting for 2 1/2 days everything is finished! I'll post pictures later. The house is definitely a work in progress as I imagine it always will be.

It's exciting to see Landrie guide everyone through the house..."Wanna see my new room?" Even if you've been here 10 times already, she'll still ask you again. :) What a sweet, funny, precious girl!

Karsyn LOVES her room. She's slept 10 hours the last few nights! What a blessing! I think what she likes most is that while she's in her room, she's protected from her big sister attacking her with hugs and kisses. Landrie just can't get enough of her!

I think what I love the most is my big bath tub! My nightly bath is a must!!

Lamar loves the house too (minus the yardwork, maybe) ;). It was a dream for both of us. We're living near family and friends and this time we don't have to move out in a year or two because of a lease.

God has been so good to us! We're so blessed to have this house and our family and friends nearby. We just wish we could have all of our family here. Maybe someday...
