Mind Over Matter

**Warning---this might be offensive to some readers**

I've been thinking about this a lot lately. I am a go, go, go type of person. Having kids didn't really change that. When Landrie was a baby, we were home for 1 full day before I had to get out of the house. I drove myself (oh my gosh!) to Wal-Mart when she was 3 days old. Lamar went back to work that same day too. Luckily, she was a good baby and would sleep any where we went. We could go to a friends house and stay until midnight if we wanted to.

With Karsyn, that didn't change. If anything, I was even more determined to be on the go. I came home from the hospital 28 hours after she was born. 3 days later, we went to church.

We've never not gone somewhere because of the girls. We go to restaurants regularly. It doesn't always go perfectly and sometimes we press our luck** (like this weekend). But the girls are learning how to act in public. Two Saturdays in a row, we went out to eat with 18+ people. It was great! The kids had a good time, and the adults were able to carry on a conversation for the most part.

I just get so surprised when I read about people (mostly on blogs) that shut down their lives for months at a time because they don't want to take their kids anywhere. They will eventually have to go out in public. How will they act then?

I'm just a mind over matter girl. If you think it's going to be hard, or horrible, it probably will be. If you have the mindset that you can do anything, you probably can.

Just my personal ramblings and opinions...

**This weekend, Karsyn got sick in the middle of a frozen yogurt store. Not my finest moment.

I am pretty sure I know what you are talking about. (I think - big time blog?)
I had 3 c-sections and was home within 2 days for all three. I lived in a 2-story townhouse after my first, and I was climbing stairs the next day after being home - I ripped my incision because of that, but never regretted "go, go, going".

I could go on for hours, but I get what you mean. :)

Amen sista! (you must have read Kellys post)I am with you! JR and I hope that when we have a child they will entire our life instead of us entering theirs. I think as a coaching family, to say a "family" during season you have to!

I agree with you. How they want their kids have a good behavior if never go out. I have twins and go everywhere with them.

Yep, I know what blog you are talking about. I sat reading it last night and laughed out loud. My first was born on a Thursday and we went out to eat on Tuesday and then were back going to church the next Sunday. We never stopped doing what we wanted to do. My 2nd was born on a Thursday also, we stopped and ate on our way home from the hospital, we were at the park on Tuesday and out practicing golf swings on Thursday (1 week old). I would go nuts if I stopped my life and stayed home. Being a coaching family if I stayed home, I would hardly ever see my hubby. I don't understand either. I'm glad I am not the only one!
